From H.J Chard & Sons to Chards Building Supplies

On October 1^st 2014, Concrete Fabrications Ltd (the parent company of Bowland Stone) purchased HJ Chard & Sons and started trading as Chards Building Supplies. HJ Chard started trading on Feeder road in 1923, so remaining at the site was very important to Concrete Fabrications.

With some rebranding, renovations and a splash of paint Chards as we know it was born. We didn’t get rid of everything though! We are still major specialists in readymix screed & concrete and lime & mortars. Old faces remain visible on site and in the Weighbridge area even now, with an extensive knowledge and a wealth of experience that continually makes your job easier.

Having combined the two businesses (Bowland Stone & Chards Building Supplies) onto one site on Cole Road, we have become a haven for landscapers, builders, and the general public!

Since the purchase of Chards we have rapidly grown into one of the most successful builder’s merchants in the South West, and plan on remaining in Bristol’s history books for many years to come.
